Swing For Eggs Maps & Core Systems
Understand the fundamental mechanics of movement, training treadmills, server-wide countdowns, and selling stalls.
Core Exploration Loop
Gameplay operates in a continuous loop: train your Speed at treadmills, equip a suit that grants sufficient swings, swing across open air toward outlying islands to claim eggs, and safely return to sell or hatch them.
1. Swings & Web Movement
Movement through the air relies on the HOLD JUMP TO SWING mechanic. As you launch, your character extends web lines to anchor and swing forward.
- Swing Counter: Displayed at the bottom center (e.g.
3/3 Swingsor6/6 Swings). Every time you latch and swing, one swing is deducted. - Running Out Mid-Air: When your counter hits
0/N Swings, you cannot generate additional web swings until landing or respawning. Budget your swings carefully for both the outward and return trip. - Planning Your Route: Use our Speed & Swing Budget Planner to ensure you have enough swings to get back.
- Guardians on the Line: The official description names guardians as part of the loop, and the described answer is to swing over them rather than fight them. See the guardian routing guide for where recorded sessions place them by zone.
- Knocks and the Swing Budget: The official description also lets players knock a carried egg out of someone's hands. An interrupted carry costs the egg and the swings already spent, so read the egg stealing guide before flying a long route with your best egg, and the multiplayer guide for how many players you are sharing the server with.
Rings are the route between zones
The game's own description states the traversal rule in one line: "Swing between rings to cross every zone". That makes a ring an anchor rather than scenery. Crossing a zone is a sequence of anchors, and a nest is what you leave the sequence to reach — which is also why a run can end with swings still showing on the counter: a missed anchor stops you before an empty bar does.
A missed anchor has two different causes, and they are bought separately. If the ring itself was out of reach, the limit is how far your web can attach — that is web range. If you reached the ring but fell short of the next one, the limit is travel Speed. Keeping those two apart is why Speed versus web range is its own section below.
| Ring question | What the game publishes |
|---|---|
| Is a ring an anchor or a checkpoint? | The description names ring-to-ring crossing as the way zones are crossed, so treat a ring as the anchor point you attach to next. |
| How many rings a zone has, and how far apart they sit | Not published. Read the spacing in the zone you are about to fly rather than assuming a number carried over from another zone. |
| What happens if you miss an anchor | Not published. A missed ring leaves you with swings in the counter and no anchor, so treat the attempt as a route fault to correct on the next flight. |
| Which stat fixes a missed ring | The description names both Speed and web range as upgrades without amounts. Reach decides whether a ring is attachable; Speed decides how far the swing carries you. |
Fly the return leg on the same anchors you used outbound, and check the pair of distances against your counter in the swing budget planner before you carry something expensive home.
2. Speed Stat & Treadmill Training
Your Speed determines how quickly you travel through the air during each swing. Higher speed allows you to cover much larger gaps per swing.
- Treadmills: Stepping onto training treadmills steadily accumulates Speed. Early treadmills grant rates such as +125 Speed/s, while higher tiers award +500/s or +625/s.
- Treadmill Upgrades: Upgrading treadmills (e.g. Level 3 to Level 4) costs in-game cash and increases your training rate.
- Estimate Wait Times: Use our Resource Calculator to calculate exactly how many seconds of training are needed to reach your next Speed target.
3. Server Events: Night Cycles & Egg Resets
Roblox servers run periodic cycles indicated by timers on the HUD:
- Night Timer: A countdown in the lower HUD (e.g.
🌙 in 45s) indicates the next night cycle or server event. - Egg Spawns: Banners display countdowns for rare egg appearances (e.g. Legendary Egg in: 1:16, Colossal Egg in: 50:20).
- Secret Announcements: Periodic system messages alert all players when rare eggs spawn in specific zones (e.g. Candy island).
- Timer Tracker: Use our Server Event Timer to log countdowns and estimate median reset intervals in your server.
4. Stalls & The Selling System
At the spawn hub, a market stall allows players to convert collected items into cash and evaluate each outcome:
- "Sell equipped!": Requires holding an item in hand. If empty-handed, the stall warns "Hold an item to sell it!". This produces a predictable cash outcome for that single item.
- "Sell your inventory!": Sells all eligible unequipped items at once. Take care not to sell items you intend to keep.
- "Never mind": Safely closes the interaction prompt without selling anything.
5. Speed vs Web Range: the Two Movement Upgrades
The official description names two separate movement upgrades: Speed and web range. They answer different problems, so spending on one does not fix a gap caused by the other.
| Upgrade | What it changes | How you raise it |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Distance covered while you are already swinging. Higher Speed clears a wide gap without needing extra web charges. | Treadmill training at your base, plus treadmill tier upgrades. Estimate the wait with the resource calculator. Speed is also sold directly: a Speed game pass multiplies it, and each zone's treadmill HUD carries its own Robux skip price. |
| Web range | How far the web can reach an anchor point. This decides whether an island, ring or nest is reachable at all, not how fast you travel once attached. | Listed as an upgrade in the official description; the price and upper limit are published in-game at its own upgrade point. We found no public range curve to quote. |
| Suit swings | How many web charges one trip has. Capacity is a suit stat, not a Speed result; two suits can share the same swing count and still differ in multiplier. | Buy suits in the shop. Compare capacity, multiplier and price in the suit tier list. |
Use the split to diagnose a failed crossing: if the counter runs to zero mid-air, the problem is swing capacity or route length. If the web never attaches to the next ring even with swings left, the distance is a range problem. The Speed & Swing Budget Plannerworks from the route you actually observed, so it will not promise a crossing distance that has not been seen in your own session.
